44 new council homes and improved connectivity move closer for Cardiff
The topping out ceremony brought together representatives from Cardiff Council, Wates Residential and the wider project team to mark the progress made so far and recognise everyone helping to bring the development forward.

Working in partnership with Cardiff Council through the Cardiff Living programme, we’re transforming a former recycling centre site in Llandaff into 44 new council homes, alongside commercial space and a new transport interchange.
At the heart of the development are 44 one and two-bedroom council homes that will help meet growing demand for affordable housing in Cardiff. Designed to be energy-efficient and affordable to run, the homes will incorporate ground source heat pumps and solar photovoltaic panels, helping to reduce carbon emissions and lower energy costs for future residents.
Located next to Waun Gron Park railway station, the development will also improve connections across west Cardiff, bringing together new homes, public transport and infrastructure in one place. Supported by Welsh Government Social Housing Grant funding, the scheme will create lasting benefits for local people and the wider community.
